After listening to a song created by artificial intelligence, I was super disappointed. The future of an art form I love was about to eliminate the human factor from it’s creation. I realized the future is here now. Sampling and remixing are the first few steps eliminating musicians. So while music creation becomes a colossal computer programming project, I’ve created a new web site: HumanMusicIntelligence.com. Anyone can listen for free! I hope to keep the “torch alive” for this music created by humans that has stood the test of time.
San Francisco’s and Open Source’s own music expert Joel Selvin‘s current book, Altamont, has found itself on the best seller list. Joel has written the definitive account of that dark day in rock’s history. He explains how a murder could occur in front of 300,000 music fans, without any witnesses.
Joel’s account of the events of that fated festival is riveting. The book takes us thru the preparation for the event to its conclusion with all the details only a newspaper man like Joel could smoke out.
Let’s support Joel!!! Buy the book.
USA Today says: “Headlined by the Rolling Stones and managed, more or less — mostly less — by the Bay Area minions of the Grateful Dead, Altamont was something of an evil twin to the summer’s momentous Woodstock festival in New York.”
Check out all the great reviews:
T.V. Guns is currently: “My most favorite song, I’ve ever produced.” It’s also one of the most meaningful songs I’ve been involved with.
It’s amazing, in my lifetime, just how much music has changed things. I think as a society we should all be concerned with glorification of guns on T.V. and video. The golden age of smoking in film was bad enough. Is the world we live in now going to be known as “The Golden Age of Gun Abuse On Video?”
Eric Din, the songwriter of T.V. Guns, is always making a point about the world he lives in. This entertaining song is so topical, and Eric’s voice is so intelligent. Give it a listen:
The Berkeley California Ska band, The Uptones have always made their opinions about the world we live in known, while still rocking out. A feat that very few can achieve without sounding pompous.
I’m such a fan, I’ve seen almost all their recent shows.
It’s also been my pleasure to help this song become realized.
